Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us, covering your licence to use Islio, what you may do with it, and the limits of our liability. Written in plain sentences so it can actually be read.

Last updated 21 August 2026 Effective 15 August 2026

Who you are dealing with

Islio is made and sold by Gaming hub LLC, a company registered in Armenia. Throughout these terms, "we" and "us" mean Gaming hub LLC. Write to us at support@islio.app.

The short version

You buy a licence to use Islio, not the software itself. Use it on the Macs you personally own. Don't resell it, don't crack it, don't redistribute it.

We warrant that it performs as described, and we support it. No software is flawless, and our liability is capped at what you paid.

It is a one-time purchase that includes every update we release. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

01 This agreement

These terms are a binding agreement between you and the developer of Islio ("we", "us"). They apply when you buy, download or use the app. By installing or using Islio you accept them; if you do not accept them, do not use the app.

The Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy form part of this agreement.

02 Your licence

When you buy Islio you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. You are buying the right to use the software, which is how essentially all software is sold.

What the licence covers

Business licences

One licence covers one person. To deploy Islio across a team, write to support@islio.app for volume licensing.

03 What you may not do

The short list of things that are not permitted:

Sensible things that are obviously fine: making backups, running it in a virtual machine you own, writing about it, reviewing it, criticising it publicly, taking screenshots and recording video of it.

04 No trial period

Islio has no trial period. It is bought once and activated with a licence key, and every feature is available from the first launch — nothing is held back, watermarked or time-limited.

05 Payment and billing

Who takes your money

Payments are processed by our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. They are the seller on your statement, they charge any tax required in your country, and they issue your receipt. Your card details go to them and their payment processor — we never see or store them.

Prices

What you are buying

Islio is sold as a one-time purchase only — there is no subscription option, and no recurring charge of any kind. It is a single payment that includes every update we release: the app tells you when a new version is out and you install it, at no further cost, for as long as Islio exists.

06 Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms and sets out the applicable period and how to request one.

07 Updates and changes

We release updates that fix bugs, improve performance and add features. We aim to keep everything you paid for working.

Software changes over time, and we may modify, replace or retire individual features — sometimes because macOS itself changes underneath us. Where we remove a feature that was material to your purchase, we will say so directly.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we change the date at the top. For material changes we give notice on the website and in the app before they take effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you may stop using Islio.

08 System requirements

Islio requires a Mac running macOS 15 or later. Some features depend on hardware or on permissions you grant, and the island's collapsed display is designed for Macs with a notch.

Requirements can rise with future versions as macOS moves forward. We will state requirements on the website, and an older version you already have keeps working on your machine.

09 Third-party services

Two features involve services we do not control:

Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or behaviour. If one of them changes or disappears, the corresponding feature may stop working.

10 Your data

Everything Islio stores — clipboard history, shelf files, screenshots, settings — stays on your Mac. It is yours. We have no access to it and no copy of it.

Because we hold no copy, backing up your own machine is your responsibility. We cannot restore anything for you.

How we handle the little personal data we do hold is described in the Privacy Policy.

11 Intellectual property

Islio, its source code, design, animations, artwork and the name "Islio" belong to us. Buying a licence gives you the right to use the app; it does not transfer ownership of any of that.

Islio is built on Apple's system frameworks and currently bundles no third-party components. If a future version includes open-source software, its licences will be listed inside the app.

Apple, macOS and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple.

12 Warranty

We build Islio carefully and we test it. We warrant that it will perform substantially as described on our website, and if it does not, we will either fix it or refund you.

Beyond that promise, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Islio is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every defect will be corrected, or that it will be compatible with every configuration of hardware, software or future version of macOS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of the paragraph above may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived by contract.

13 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Islio — even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to Islio is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limits above apply only so far as that jurisdiction permits.

14 Ending this agreement

By you

Stop using Islio and drag it to the Trash. There is no subscription to cancel and no notice to give us.

By us

We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms — in practice, that means piracy, licence key abuse, or using the app to break the law. Where the breach can be put right, we will tell you and give you a reasonable chance to do so first.

If we terminate your licence for a reason that is not your fault, we refund you the unused portion of what you paid.

Sections 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17 survive the end of this agreement.

15 Support

Support is included with your licence, by email at support@islio.app. We usually reply within a day and often within an hour, in English or Russian.

A real person answers. There is no ticket queue to climb and no bot to get past.

16 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, and the courts of Armenia have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your own local courts.

Before going to court

Write to legal@islio.app first. Most disputes are resolved by a single exchange of email, and we ask that you give us the opportunity to resolve yours that way.
